Swimming Pool Time in Okinawa

Swimming pool fun! It is SO hot and humid here that the only thing fun to do outdoors is play in the water! So, we have taken a taxi from our hotel room at the Westpac Lodge to the 50 meter swimming pool on another portion of Camp Foster Marine base. I will be taking my Japanese driving test on Wednesday and hope to have a car by next weekend!  These taxi bills are adding up.
If you noticed from our photos in other swimming pools, like Hawaii, Mackenzie and Cooper are swimming with rings or her "duck."  However, I have very quickly found out, that living on a Marine base comes with LOTS OF RULES!  One of the rules at this swimming pool is NO RINGS, so no duck for Mackenzie. Instead we have tied the "noodles" around their waists and the lifeguards seem to be o.k. with it.  Daddy also bought them goggles "like the big kids," and it was exactly what Mackenzie needed. No more water in her eyes!
Yesterday was a memorable day for them in the water, both jumped off the ledge multiple times to mommy and daddy and even went under the water!  This is a HUGE accomplishment for Mackenzie that has to have a dry wash cloth at bath time to wipe the water from her eyes. (Maybe we will do bath time with goggles too!)

Mackenzie felt secure enough in the water to take her noodle off and swim around with just her bubbles or water wings and googles. I was so proud of how well they did in the water yesterday and can't wait to get them in swim lessons! It has been hard because most of the swim classes I found in San Diego required one parent per child and with Mitch gone, I couldn't do the swim classes by myself. I plan to check into swim lessons here and get them signed up asap!
