Transforming our New Home

We can't do a lot to the inside of the house until our things arrive, we decided to add some life to the front of the house!  After a very entertaining trip to the local do it yourself store, Makeman, we came home with lots of flowers and planters. Cooper and Mackenzie were great helpers digging and watering the flowers. Excuse the blurry photos, our camera is not used to the humidity here and fogs all the time!  I tried to buy plants and flowers that I know survive well in the heat and humidity, like the mexican heather below and hibiscus plants.
Mackenzie was very excited to put dirt in her hippo planter and super excited when we added her purple flower. She gave the hippo lots of moochies.
She wasn't sure about getting her hands dirty, so she wanted to wear my gloves.
Watering the flowers with their new elephant watering cans.

We put purple and yellow flowers in the planters and purple and pink along the edging.
While we were at Makeman hardware store we also picked out some paint for our bedrooms. What a funny experience! Everything was in Japanese and after asking for help, they directed us to a very limited selection of colors for indoor painting. Only two blue choices, so we picked both! One for our room and one for the kids room. I had hoped to paint theirs more of an aqua color, but didn't have the option.

Cooper and Mackenzie's room painted blue. I will be ordering them new bedding in their favorite colors of Purple and Yellow with some blue to coordinate.  More to come!
