Impromptu Block Party

I LOVE my neighbors! I literally moved one of my chairs into the grass from my backyard to watch the kids play this afternoon and it turned into this!!  We had a beautiful fall day here in Okinawa and everyone was home relaxing and wanted to enjoy the nice weather. We brought out chairs, wine, beer, and snacks and talked as the kids played hard.
Mackenzie and Matthew spent most of the day following each other around. Shannon and I were giggling as they snuggled during a movie and battled the "bad guys" together. Don't worry though, Cooper spent a lot of time chasing "bad guys" too and even spent some time cooking with mommy in the kitchen.
Yes, I actually spent some time cooking today and made 3 rounds of pancakes for Cooper!  He is a big fan of my chocolate chip pancakes :)
Chapman is showing Cooper his mad skills on the hula hoop as Emily and Samantha investigate one of Cooper's trucks.

I look forward to many more of these impromptu gatherings as well as the cooler weather we had today!

Pre-Halloween Fun

We were supposed to go to the Camp Lester Fall Festival Friday night, but the incident in Okinawa caused it to be postponed. We instead had the kids dress up and played outside for awhile. It was much cheaper and more relaxing than going to the festival anyway!  Mackenzie still hasn't decided what she wants to be on Halloween, but we have several outfits she can wear. This is the purple fairy costume that goes very well with the bag of cheese-its she is carrying!
Matthew is styling as Spiderman in cowboy boots! YEAH!!!
Samantha and Emily are fairies and Cooper is Batman. He LOVES this outfit and was showing us some of his moves.
Superhero meeting taking place.
